Services We Offer

We have professional arborists who specialise in tree surgery, offering a variety of services from tree felling, pruning, and shaping, or pollarding, all at competitive prices with no hidden charges added on. Our experienced team will work hard to get your trees back into shape, so you won’t worry about any accidents happening again! If it is not safe for us, then it is not safe for you either.

Our other services include stump removal and grinding, dismantling, crown reduction (or lifting), coppicing, tree planting, and branch and limb removal. We offer a complete range of professional arboriculture services in the Midlands area, with safety at the forefront of everything we do!

Tree surgery

Tree surgery is a process in which we cut and prune a tree to either reduce its height, remove dangerous branches or roots that may cause injury or damage property, or improve the way it looks. You should go for tree surgery if a tree is growing in the wrong direction, has spread into your property’s boundary or near power lines, or if it produces leaves that hang low enough to obstruct paths and driveways.

Tree felling

Sometimes we must also remove trees. Tree felling can be done for various reasons, including a lack of space or sunlight, danger caused by roots or branches overhanging nearby properties, blocking pathways with fallen foliage, etcetera. Tree felling is necessary for you if a tree or several trees are not coping with the competition for nutrients, water, and light.

Stump removal and grinding

Stumps can be very stubborn to remove sometimes. Unless you have a chainsaw, that is! We will stump and grind your stumps so they don’t protrude over time when we’re done with tree surgery work on them until they finally rot away completely in about two years (give or take). This service is essential for those whose gardens or lawns are a tight squeeze on the side of their property.

Milling

We use our tree surgery skills and machinery for milling trees too, including felled ones from other companies that we’ve been asked to take over responsibility for after they’ve done their initial work on them already. Milled branches can be reused as wood chip mulch in gardens, parks, etcetera-great recycling! If you need timber, then milling is what we do best! This service entails cutting logs into planks using our professional sawmill equipment, which includes circular/vertical bandsaws, plus different kinds of lathes like horizontal mills, etcetera. You could use the wood for new building construction or in other ways.

Dismantling

For those customers who don’t want any responsibility for taking care of their own felled trees-i.e. those without room onsite for log storage space-then hiring us to do it all could be an option worth considering. We will take full responsibility throughout this process, including safely clearing away branches/limbs, removing logs (if required), and transporting them. You need a dismantling service if you don’t have the space to store logs, or simply want a professional service from start to finish.

Crown Reduction

Some trees just need their crowns reduced in height for aesthetic purposes. For example, before a homeowner can build on his/her site, they may require that we reduce some of our trees’ canopy-this is done by lopping off selected branches and then trimming up any other overgrowth within their footprint. This service helps in creating a safe working environment for the builder and also provides an aesthetically pleasing look.

Crown Lifting

Crown lifting is performed on trees that have reached a height where they are top-heavy, or could be dangerous if windy conditions occur. It can provide added stability to timber frame structures by counteracting prevailing winds, but in most cases, it’s just about providing homeowners with peace of mind knowing their trees won’t take any more damage than necessary during high-wind events. Alongside this service, we usually trim back other branches close to the crown so as not to add instability from new growth over time too.

Crown thinning

Crown thinning is performed on trees that are growing too thick, or have branches that grow too close together. It’s a process of selectively cutting the lower branches of these overgrown crowns so as not to inhibit growth further up and encourage healthy branching throughout the tree. You should go for crown thinning if you have trees that are too tall, or whose branches grow too close together and so restrict the tree’s ability to continue growing.

Dangerous tree removal

Sometimes, your trees may pose a danger to you and your property. If they are damaged or diseased, then you must remove them as a matter of safety, so call in professional tree surgeons from Trent Tree Surgeons for an assessment and removal service if necessary.

Ivy removal

Ivy can grow on trees very quickly and be hard to get off without damaging the bark too much, which is why we offer ivy removal services! It doesn’t require any climbing equipment either, as all work is done at ground level using tools like shears and ladders. This means there is no risk of injury during the process either. This service is important for clients who want to keep their trees healthy, so call us today!

Planting

Planting is important too! Whether it’s a tree or flowers, we can plant your garden to make sure you’re getting the right plants in the right place. Call us today for professional advice and service on planting trees at your home or workplace.

Branch and limb removal

We offer branch and limb removal too. This service is really important for those who want to cut out the deadwood from their trees or branches.

Coppicing

This is a form of tree surgery that involves cutting off the tops and sides of trees to encourage rapid growth from new stems at the base, which in turn produces thick shoots for use as poles, stakes, etcetera. It’s another way we can help you with your timber needs!

Pruning and shaping

Pruning is the process of cutting out branches and limbs from a tree to allow for space, light, or better growth. Shaping is done by selective pruning, which includes shaping the canopy of a tree to control the size of leaves, shape its crown, and make it more aesthetically pleasing. This service is for those who want to keep their trees looking tidy. We can prune and shape trees as well!

Hedge management

Hedge management is done by trimming and shaping hedges to meet the clients’ needs. This service is also for those who want their hedges to look tidy. For the gardener, we offer hedge management services too. If you’re worried about your hedges getting out of control or just need a little help with them, give us a call today!

Pollarding

Pollarding involves cutting off all but one branch from trees every year to encourage rapid growth and the production of large leaves that provide excellent fodder for livestock during the winter months. It’s another way we can help you with your timber needs! You should go for our pollarding service if you want your tree to look good again.

Woodchips

Our wood chips are perfect for adding to your compost heap or mulching around plants, etcetera (though it should be noted that fresh leaves will also provide sufficient nitrogen). They’re an alternative for customers who live too far away from our yard and cannot take deliveries. Therefore, you need this service if you live near it.

Emergency tree services

We also offer emergency tree services, so if you have an emergency such as a fallen tree in your garden or driveway that needs removing, we can attend to it.

Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of the questions our clients may ask.
t

How dangerous is tree surgery?

Tree surgery can be very dangerous, but we believe it’s important to do the job properly, not fast and carelessly, which would only make things worse for you or your property in the long run. We have all the right tools and experience with trees, so we can perform this work safely.
t

Why is tree surgery important?

It’s important because, if left unchecked, a diseased or damaged tree could lead to hazardous conditions that may put people at risk of injury, loss of life, or damage to their homes. This includes things like branches falling off onto roads below; fallen limbs threatening power lines; deadwood attracting termites etc.
t

What are the responsibilities of a tree surgeon?

Tree surgeons need a high level of professional qualifications, experience, and competence to perform tree surgery. We have all the required knowledge and training to provide safe work practices for our clients.
t

What is the difference between an arborist and a tree surgeon?

An Arborist is someone who studies trees scientifically but doesn’t typically do any hands-on work with them. A Tree Surgeon, on the other hand, works directly with trees, often doing so professionally by removing diseased or damaged branches, etc., which requires various skills, from climbing techniques up to chainsaw handling abilities depending on what needs cutting down!
